The global scourge of the free market economy has left no aspect of life untainted. Empty hope clings futile to dreams of a new day, one unfettered by shameless consumerism, unrestrained private development, and the 21st-century manifestations of the Debordian spectacle. Technology looms over contemporary society as a tool of mind control and surveillance, its utopian potentials yet undiscovered.
