Last man standing

April 2018

For my first critique in On Art and Life, I created a multisensory experience. I shot and edited a 360 degree video to be viewed in an Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, which I placed on a plinth adjacent to a sculptural object (R). The aforementioned object consists of a platform made of melted plastic police and military toys. Atop this platform are a handful of plastic police toys, as well as an off-kilter flag. While the viewer is watching the virtual reality component of the piece, they are confronted by the acrid smell of recently burnt plastic from the sculptural object.

The video is below – if you aren’t able to view it in a virtual reality headset, you can pan around using Google Chrome!
